8 Essential Tips for Quality Filmmaking at Home

by admin

Last week we introduced TPH Education At Home, sharing some of the short films we use in our filmmaking classes at The Picture House, along with suggested discussion questions and activities. These are a great way to provide a little arts enrichment in your “school at home” day, as inspiration for a writing assignment, or just a way to come together and connect through the art of film.

We’ll have another new arts break on Wednesday. Until then, you can find last week’s films, Emmeline and He Who Dances on Wood, and the suggested activities for each film here on our website.

Our fabulous Picture House instructors — professional filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, and documentarians from Westchester and New York City — will be helping develop our Education At Home programming. We’ll also be sharing some of their professional knowledge and creative ideas for meeting students wherever they are in their exploration of film and media.

Below is a great article on recording quality videos from home, written by our instructor Laura Meoli.

We hope you enjoy these arts break activities and resources!
