Holiday Arts Break #2
Here is our second Holiday Arts Break, inspired by the New York International Children’s Film Festival’s Kid Flicks programs. (You can view these fantastic short films from around the world in our virtual screening room.) Our Arts Breaks are meant to spark meaningful family discussions and to encourage kids of all ages to stay creative and connected through the holiday season.
Paper Kite is the third film in Kid Flicks Program Two. It’s the story of a young girl who is trying to decide between following the rules or following her imagination. This film was made by students in Qatar and has English subtitles, but there is very little dialogue in the film. Younger readers may need help keeping up with the subtitles, but this is a great opportunity for young audiences to embrace watching films in this way.
