March Film Study — Women in Film: The Difficult Kind

by admin

TPH Education’s Film Study Program for Adults in March, honoring Women’s History Month, will be taught by Picture House Marquee Night 2019 Honoree Clara Bingham, a journalist, author, and documentary film producer whose work has focused on social justice and women’s issues. Bingham will lead the class, themed Women in Film: The Difficult Kind, in discussing important films, including Harriet, The Glorias, North Country, and Nomadland. Classes will meet online on Thursdays at 5:30 pm on Zoom; Class dates are March 4, 11, 18, and 25.

Class Details:

This class functions much like a book club — students watch the films at home through available streaming services, and arrive at class for additional content and robust discussion led by the instructor. (You will need Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu accounts to access the movies.) The first film we’ll discuss is Harriet. The instructor will be in touch with details before the first class. For students unable to attend a class, meetings will be recorded through Zoom by request.
