Improv–The Pelicants

About The Pelicants

We are honored to host the longest-running local improv performance group at our theater on the first Saturday of every month. After auditions at the beginning of the school year, a group of 12 students in grades 8-12 is chosen to meet weekly in our Screening Room for free evening classes in improv and sketch comedy. On the first Saturday of every month, this group of brave teens take to our main stage to entertain the audience with scenes that they create on the spot. In addition to bringing the community together to share some laughs, improv has been shown to build public speaking skills, foster group collaboration, and work multiple intelligences at the same time – amazing benefits for students and audiences alike.
