Dear Picnic in the Park supporters
and friends of The Picture House,

As summer fades into fall and the anticipation of the back-to-school season sets in, we at the Picture House are usually busy planning one of our favorite events of the year – Picnic in the Park. Coming together with old friends and new to celebrate film and community is something we look forward to all year.

But if there’s one thing we know for sure, this year has been NO picnic.

Yet, as we all balance personal and societal concerns and try to navigate these turbulent times, we recognize the need to celebrate small victories and find respite through the arts in a manner that makes us all feel comfortable.

So while we won’t be able to gather at The Picture House as we normally do at this time of the year, we didn’t want to let the tradition go by completely unnoticed. With that in mind we are pleased to share our PICNIC PLAYBOOK. From films, to playlists, to wines and a signature drink – we hope this guide inspires you to plan a fun picnic with your favorite people. We’ll be raising a glass to YOU and our shared love of the magic of the movies and we hope you’ll think of The Picture House and post photos of your spread/friends/fun on social using #PictureHousePicnic2020. We’re already looking forward to getting together at our 10th Annual Picnic in the Park in 2021 (our centennial year) to celebrate all of you and your unwavering support of The Picture House.

All our best to you –

The Board of Directors and Staff of The Picture House
