What’s happening at The Picture House

The Picture House turns 100 this year. And what a year (and more) it has been!

Thanks to generous members and donors and several loans and grants, we have made it through the longest closure in our theater’s history. We are proud to welcome you safely back to the theater as we take all we have learned these past 18 months and head into our next 100 years.

We are once again open 7 days a week! We have a new HVAC system keeping us cool and healthy and — today in fact — we are beginning our vaccinated-only screening days (Sundays and Mondays) at TPH.*

Our fall programming will be hybrid. One of the lessons we learned through delivering virtual programming is that for some of our offerings it’s a better choice. We’ve discovered that many of you are interested in film classes but don’t have time to get to the theater in-person — so we’ll continue to offer those classes online. (We have a great line-up for fall — you won’t want to miss them.) And as we continue this increased access to our offerings we will undoubtedly build an even stronger community.

There are some terrific movies coming out — plus a German Film Festival on the calendar (thank you, Westchester Community Foundation!), Film Club in October and November, and much more. And our centennial year continues until our Centennial Celebration on March 11, 2022.

We are open, we are strong, and we are hopeful
