Reopening News: Guidelines Announced

by admin

Last weekend, Governor Cuomo announced a reopening date of October 23rd for movie theaters in parts of New York State and on Tuesday the guidelines for opening were issued in detail. While we will not be opening on the 23rd, we are thrilled that there is finally a path forward.
The guidelines are extensive and comprehensive – and we want to take the time to not just meet them but exceed them as the comfort and safety of our audience and employees is paramount to us. When we reopen things will be different – there will only be six seats in the screening room, for instance – but you’ll be able to once again enjoy the movies on the big screen! (We are allowed to seat up to 50 people in the Main Hall.) The theater will also be available for private rentals and birthday parties with social distancing protocols in place.
Once we reopen our physical theater, we will continue to offer TPH at Home. We’ve enjoyed gathering online for virtual screenings, film club, arts breaks, and more – and we have some terrific movies and classes coming up. In order to accommodate everyone’s different comfort levels, we want to continue to provide top notch access to films and education both online and in the theater for the foreseeable future. Check back here for more news on reopening – we’ll keep you posted!
